Anthropic is combining its Cowork and Chat functions into a single unified interface that determines whether a task requires a quick answer or agentic work based on the user's prompt. The updated system allows the assistant to continue processing reports or tasks in the cloud after a user closes their laptop, utilizing local files and apps while the computer is open. The rollout for Pro and Max subscribers occurs over the next few weeks.

The release integrates Claude Design, Claude Slides, and Claude Docs as beta features for all paid plans, allowing users to create decks and documents directly within a conversation. These tools, powered by a revamped Artifacts platform, are also available within Claude Code for generating UI mockups and design review decks from repository files. Completed slides can be edited or exported as PowerPoint and PDF files.
