Anthropic Plans $2 Trillion IPO in November for Record Valuation

An initial public offering for Anthropic is scheduled for November with a target offering of up to $100 billion. The listing targets a valuation of $2 trillion, which would set records for a public debut, and allows the developer to include third-quarter financial results. The company will meet with prospective investors in the coming days to discuss the impact of a potential slowdown in frontier model development on its valuation.

The AI lab is considering the release of a new model to counter the momentum of OpenAI's Astra, which debuted in September. Annualized revenue is projected to exceed $110 billion by year-end, up from $65 billion in July. These plans proceed despite a call from CEO Dario Amodei for a general industry slowdown in the pace of new capability releases to mitigate safety risks.
