AI agents can now execute trades for US equities using the Coinbase for Agents platform. The updated tool provides access to more than 6,000 stocks and introduces x402 payments, which allow agents to purchase real-time market data mid-task from a user's USDC balance without a subscription. These payment features are available exclusively to users in the US.

The service integrates traditional stocks alongside existing support for cryptocurrency and derivatives trading. Securities are offered by Coinbase Capital Markets Corporation, a member of FINRA and SIPC, while digital asset services are provided by Coinbase. Users assume all risk for agent transactions, and fractional shares are available only for eligible stocks.
