OpenAI is scaling its commercial leadership to capture more corporate spending on generative AI. Brian McCarthy, formerly of SpaceX, joins as the VP of Worldwide Sales in a newly created role to accelerate international growth. He will collaborate with Chief Revenue Officer Dali Rajic to build the company's sales infrastructure.

McCarthy led global revenue and field operations at SpaceX following the acquisition of Cursor and held senior enterprise sales positions at Rubrik, ThoughtSpot, AppDynamics and Qlik. This hire coincides with a push for enterprise AI spending against rival Anthropic before an expected initial public offering.
