Internal company posts indicate that contractors based in the U.S. are currently managing a portion of the voice interactions for Meta's Muse agent. The "human concierge" experiment allows operators to take over phone calls to ensure task completion and fill technical gaps in the agent's calling feature. While some employees raised privacy concerns regarding the exposure of sensitive user data, Meta is using this testing phase to refine safety protections and says it will provide proper disclosures before any public release.

Meta is also expanding the Muse agent's functionality by integrating with Instacart, enabling users to convert voice prompts like "Taco Tuesday" into ready to checkout grocery carts. This move is part of a broader strategy to create an "action layer" for the assistant, facilitating direct commercial transactions. Other partnerships for the agent include connections with PayPal, Expedia, and Shopify to handle checkout, travel planning, and merchant shopping.
