OpenAI employee Tibo confirmed that banked resets failed to apply correctly during a specific time window, causing some users to lose access to their remaining quota. The company is now granting a second reset and issuing apology emails to everyone who used a banked reset during the affected period.

System errors caused some usage levels to plunge from 70% to 0% instantly. Certain users reported that dashboards continue to show 0% left despite the official remedy, while others experienced a shift in their weekly reset cycle by 2 days. This failure affected the internal reset and quota system rather than acting as a simple frontend display error.
