TypeSafe AI released Jev, a "System One" model designed for structured decisions instead of token-by-token text generation. The model is now available on the Vercel AI Gateway and provides responses 20 to 200 times faster and costs 40 to 400 times lower than comparable large language models. Input pricing is $0.04 per million tokens with free output tokens for decisions.

Vercel is integrating Jev as a safety reviewer for its fx auto mode to replace the current GPT-5.6-Luna setup. Initial tests show Jev is 18 times faster at the 95th percentile and offers higher accuracy for analyzing software commands. The model's architecture enables AI agents to route, score, and stop processes in milliseconds.
