Hacker Sells Full Mistral AI Source Code and Customer Data in First Lab Leak↩︎

A forum user using the handle "mrwho" claims to have compromised a Paris-headquartered AI developer and is soliciting payment for its internal codebase. The available material includes the company's complete source code, web application files, and proprietary project data, with the seller requesting payment exclusively in Monero (XMR). Social media posts on September 17 further allege the breach exposed customer data from Mistral AI.

The attacker attributes the incident to improperly managed developer secrets at the firm. Mistral AI produces large language models and AI infrastructure, though the authenticity of the provided source tree sample and the completeness of the leaked data have not been independently verified.
