Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is among the invitees for the state dinner, joining leadership from Apple, OpenAI, and Nvidia, according to a person familiar with the planning. The event provides direct access for semiconductor and artificial intelligence firms during a high-level diplomatic summit between the U.S. and China.

The dinner is a centerpiece of a three-day state visit concluding September 25. Preliminary trade talks began in New York between U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng to discuss AI policy, agricultural purchases, and rare earth minerals. Both sides are negotiating the extension of a $30 billion tariff truce that expires November 10.
