ChangXin Memory Technologies initiated talks with potential clients for NAND flash chips used in AI systems and supercomputers. The company plans a research line in Beijing to enter the flash-memory segment and compete with Samsung and YMTC during a global shortage of storage components.

It remains unclear when the R&D facility will start operating or if the firm will scale from trial production to commercial manufacturing. This expansion into NAND flash memory aims to establish a domestic Chinese alternative to current market leaders during a period of limited global availability.
