Preorders opened Sept. 21 for a new category of hardware that integrates the Gemini AI assistant into a dedicated laptop chassis. The Googlebook line features starting prices of $899 and includes 2.8K OLED touchscreen displays and 14 hour battery life. Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, codenamed Panther Lake, power the initial devices which ship Oct. 4 via the Google Store and Best Buy.

Intel announced that its Panther Lake chips bring flagship connectivity and efficiency to the hardware available for sale on Oct. 5. The devices are engineered to sync with Android phones, allowing users to switch between mobile and desktop environments without interruption.
