The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Extreme Gen 6 introduce a 2nm architecture to smartphone processors to support expanded local AI workloads. The high-end Extreme model runs a 30B parameter Mixture-of-Experts AI model on-device, while its sensing hub supports models up to 200M parameters for speaker recognition and always-on assistants. Both versions support 8K video at 60 frames per second and include AI-based voice isolation.

Motorola, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, Honor and OnePlus will integrate the new chips into upcoming premium devices. The transition to larger on-device AI increases the demand for leading-edge silicon and memory during a period of supply constraints for both materials.
