A fleet of Jaguar I-PACE vehicles will arrive in the city-state later this year to initiate the rollout of a driverless transportation network. Google's autonomous driving subsidiary will spend early 2027 mapping local streets and refining its software. Waymo will provide fully autonomous paid ride-hailing in 2028, marking the company's first operational presence in Southeast Asia.
Testing focuses on adapting the AI to navigate the region's unique road infrastructure and heavy monsoon rainfall. The transition to commercial services follows several years of deployments in the U.S. and is part of a strategy to scale the robotaxi business across new international markets.
