Parallel cloud threads now run from a single conversation in Claude Code, allowing the AI to route requests to existing or new threads. This "Projects" experience is in beta for select Pro and Max users who utilize cloud sessions and will expand to all Claude users soon. A shared memory system lets the AI remember project-specific details across threads, and an overview panel enables users to track and steer tasks from a mobile device or desktop.

The orchestrator agent manages teams of specialists by mixing high and low cost agents based on user preference, with threads that continue processing in the cloud when the user is offline. One user deployed 18 separate threads to resolve historical mysteries, with each thread launching additional agents for simulation and fact checking. Support for local file and internal network access is scheduled for a future update as Anthropic expands the rollout over the coming weeks.
