1 story1 Anthropic Seeks $100 Billion Raise in $2 Trillion November IPO AI Sep 18, 6:10 PM EDT 34/23
The maker of the Claude AI assistant plans to launch a public listing on Nasdaq that would set a historic benchmark for offering size with up to $100 billion in shares. Current investors estimate the company's annualized revenue will surpass $110 billion by year-end, up from $65 billion in July, supporting a valuation of roughly $2 trillion. Shares are on track to begin trading in November.
Advisers believe the timing allows for the inclusion of third quarter financials to show performance after the September launch of OpenAI Astra. Anthropic intends to secure 5 GW of compute capacity by the end of 2026 and 10 GW by 2027. SOC Investment Group is urging the company to postpone the debut until rules around AI development and deployment become clearer.
