An MIT spinout founded by professor Tim Kraska is building a platform that converts business requirements and policies into a semantic graph to automate enterprise software development. G5 Labs raised $14 million in seed funding to develop a "system ontology" that acts as the source of truth for AI-native software, where changes in natural-language intent automatically rewrite implementation code. The startup emerged from the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) to create a new abstraction layer for software engineering.

Pillar and Battery co-led the financing round, with participation from Omega VP, Encoded Ventures, and individual investors including Jeff Dean. The platform manages conflicts among multiple AI coding agents in enterprise environments where automation is already widespread; AI agents currently author 80% of production code shipped at Anthropic. The technology enables non-technical staff, including product owners and compliance leads, to evolve software using natural language while maintaining organizational governance.
