The Chinese technology giant's rotating chairman, David Wang, detailed a plan to release two artificial-intelligence semiconductors by 2027 to challenge Nvidia's market dominance. The Ascend 960DT launches in the first quarter of 2027 and the 960PR arrives in the third quarter, both utilizing UnifiedBus technology to support next-generation large AI systems. These products supplement 11 new AI-related chips released this week to compete with hardware from Nvidia, Intel, and AMD.

Huawei is currently trialing its AI hardware in select overseas markets despite US export control curbs aimed at restricting high-end technology transfers to China. This expansion coincides with a statement from Xu that the company now holds a larger share of China's AI chip market than Nvidia. The new technology is designed to strengthen domestic computing capabilities and reduce reliance on US chipmakers.
