Customers of PayPal merchants worldwide can now utilize Muse AI agents to complete online shopping and checkout processes. This integration enables a seamless transition from product discovery to final payment directly within the AI interface, removing the need to navigate to external checkout pages. A separate agreement with Shopify provides agentic checkout through Shop Pay for all Shopify stores.

The deployment includes the opening of the Muse connector platform to facilitate an ecosystem of third party tools and developer integrations. Meta is evolving the service from a basic assistant into a transaction layer for digital commerce, with Muse founder Alexandr Wang stating the company will not stop until the agent can "shop till he drops." Shopify shares rose on Sept. 21 after the agentic payment deal was announced.
