Consumers can perform full e-commerce transactions through Meta's Muse AI assistant following two new corporate agreements. The partnership with PayPal enables seamless shopping and checkout across all PayPal merchants worldwide, while the Shopify agreement brings agentic checkout using Shop Pay to all Shopify stores, allowing users to pay without leaving the AI interface.

The rollout transitions Muse from a virtual assistant into a transaction layer for online commerce. Meta also launched the Muse connector platform to facilitate further business integrations for the AI agent. Shopify shares rose after CEO Tobi Lutke announced the deep partnership to automate the checkout process for the platform's merchants.
