GPT-6 Sol carries a price of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, while the GPT-6 Luna model is priced at $0.10 and $0.50 respectively. OpenAI released both models on Sept. 22 via its API and for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu subscribers in ChatGPT Work and Codex. Free and Go users have access to Luna through the desktop app. These versions use efficient caching and inference to scale the capabilities of the GPT-6 Astra model for professional workloads.

Performance benchmarks show GPT-6 Sol costs 9% of the per-task price of Claude Opus 5 on AutomationBench and reduces hallucinations from 92% to 60% on the AA-Omniscience index. Independent analysis from Artificial Analysis noted regressions in knowledge work, with Sol dropping 100 Elo points in the GDPval-AA v2.1 evaluation. OpenAI is also issuing a banked reset to all Plus, Pro, and Business accounts to coincide with the rollout.
